I always loved Romans chapter 8:1 but I never knew the whole chapter is so on point ! Last week during my morning devotion I was studying Romans chapter 8 and I was so mesmerised by how much truth it holds. I thought I should share some of the revelation here!

Romans 8:1
[1]THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

The chapter opens with something very cardinal in each and every christian’s life; the gift of no condemnation. Do you know how much joy and peace beyond human understanding it brings when you come to realise this truth? When you come to realise that no matter what happens there’s no condemnation for those who are in Christ. This chapter doesn’t just bring peace but empowers us to do what we couldn’t do the time we were living under condemnation.

Romans 8:3
[3]For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice]

Then the chapter begins to enlighten us on where our righteousness is found as children of God. Of course not in our works but the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary!

Romans 8:11
[11]And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.

I love this verse alot like the same spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in us today. That’s an honor and an awakening of how much power and authority is in us as believers. Let me take this opportunity to encourage someone out there that there’s so much authority you carry, because the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us! No matter what life has thrown at you , you are more than a conqueror!

Romans 8:15
[15]For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

This scripture is just too much. Jesus Christ cried on the cross of calvary for the first time my God my God why have you forsaken me so we can have the right to cry out to God Abba Father. The cross of calvary indeed purchased it all for us. And Today we no longer live in fear because of Jesus Christ and his finished work on the cross of calvary .

Romans 8:19
[19]For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].

People of God even creation is waiting for us to be made known. It’s time as God’s children we allowed the holy spirit to be made manifest through us. Let’s desire more to be used by God. The holy spirit is already ready it’s all now depending on us because Jesus has done it all!!!

For today I will end here stay tuned for part two soon.
